Identifying the appropriate licensing for calling, Phone System, and resource accounts
If you want to use Microsoft Teams with Microsoft Phone System with calling plans to connect to your Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) provider, there are some licensing considerations you must take into account.
You will need to acquire calling plan licenses and assign these to your users who will use the Teams Phone System. Microsoft provides two types of calling plans, as follows:
- Domestic calling plans: Users may call numbers located in the Microsoft 365 region they have been assigned to.
- Domestic and international calling plans: Users may call numbers located in the Microsoft 365 region they have been assigned to, as well as to international numbers in 196 countries.
All the users in the same country who share a calling plan will also share a pool of minutes.
