Exporting your design as a PDF

In the previous recipe, we looked at how we can use Canva Print to print our designs. However, you may want to print the image yourself or send it to a different professional printing service. In this case, you will want to know how to export your design as a PDF.

You may be thinking that exporting the design as a PDF is an odd choice. Wouldn’t an image format such as PNG or JPEG be better?

While PNG and JPEG are popular image formats, they have limitations when used for printing. PNG, despite its ability to cause compression, can introduce color shifts when converted to CMYK. JPEG, on the other hand, can suffer from quality degradation due to lossy compression.

For optimal print results, PDFs offer superior color accuracy, better control over image quality, and compatibility with various printing devices. By choosing PDF, you ensure your designs are printed precisely as intended.
