Before we start

For this chapter, we'll use the saved Data Source, Sample-Superstore, again. As the focus is on the Dashboard, the examples will start as if three Worksheets were already built. The Worksheets are the following:

• Sales and Profit by Sub-Category: Sub-Category in Rows, Sales in Columns, and Profit in Color, as illustrated here:

• Profit Evolution: ContinuousQuarter of Order Date in Columns and Profit in Rows, as illustrated here:

• Profit by State: A Map of each State with Profit in Color, as illustrated here:

You can download the ZIP file Dashboard Start from the Chapter 8: Create Powerful Dashboards and Stories section of my website, book.ladataviz.com (or, browse to https://ladataviz.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Dashboard-Start.twbx_.zip). When you unzip the file, you'll find a Tableau Package Workbook that contains the three Worksheets. However, don't hesitate to recreate them yourself to practice!
