Virtualization layer network components


The network components of the virtualization layer for the most part fall under the scope of infrastructure virtualization and are mostly pre-existing in an established environment. Furthermore, depending on the virtualization platform chosen, terminology and specific concepts will differ. We'll cover general virtualization networking, since XenDesktop component servers and virtual desktops are based on a virtualized infrastructure.

The host/management network

It is general and recommended best practice to separate virtualization host management traffic from typical virtual machines traffic by using dedicated NIC.
