Conventions used
There are a number of text conventions used throughout this book.
Code in text
: Indicates code words in text, database table names, folder names, filenames, file extensions, pathnames, dummy URLs, user input, and Twitter handles. Here is an example: “In NavigationStack
, there’s a new view modifier called navigationDestination
, which allows us to define a destination separately according to a state change.”
A block of code is set as follows:
enum Screen: Hashable { case signin case onboarding case mainScreen case settings } @State var path: [Screen] = []
When we wish to draw your attention to a particular part of a code block, the relevant lines or items are set in bold:
struct CoordinatorView: View { @ObservedObject private var coordinator = Coordinator() var body: some View { NavigationStack(path: $coordinator.path) { AlbumListView() .navigationDestination(for: PageAction.self, destination: { pageAction in coordinator.buildView(forPageAction: pageAction) }) } .environmentObject(coordinator) } }
Any command-line input or output is written as follows:
@testable import Chapter14
Bold: Indicates a new term, an important word, or words that you see onscreen. For instance, words in menus or dialog boxes appear in bold. Here is an example: “The code creates a blue circle and a button saying Start.”
