Introduction to testing


The process of testing the features of the site and code is critical for building successful sites or applications. This process allows us to detect any defects in the site before releasing to a live environment. There are several types of testing used in web development, where some of them play a very important role compared to others. We can test both functional and non-functional aspects of WordPress sites using these testing types. In this section, we are going to have a brief introduction to the most important functional and non-functional testing types. 

Unit and integration testing

Unit testing is used to test each small component independent from others, while integration testing is used to test the application in combination with all the modules.
