Integrating Polyglot Notebooks into your day job

Whenever I demonstrate Polyglot Notebooks at user groups and conferences, I inevitably see a number of people staring at the notebooks on the screen – appearing to be actively thinking through the implications of the technology. These are the people who usually find me after the session and talk to me more.

They’re often excited about the capabilities of Polyglot Notebooks and how it opens up new modes of programming, but they’re unsure of how to translate from the notebook experience I demonstrated to their day-to-day job.

Sometimes, this uncertainty is a tooling concern – particularly with developers who primarily develop in Visual Studio who aren’t used to VS Code for .NET development. Other times, this is simply a radical difference between application types. Let’s face it: notebooks are an entirely different type of application than enterprise web applications.
