Docker can be thought of as a cyber-container. Have you ever gone out on a picnic lunch? How did you prepare, store, and distribute/carry your food? You packed it inside a container, right? Perhaps you had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or two, fruit such as an apple or banana, maybe some celery or carrot sticks, and a juice box or small bottle of water. Then, you placed all of those items inside a single unit. Maybe you called it a lunch box, a picnic basket, or something else. The point is you placed them all inside a container. Though related, they were still each unique with a unique purpose, working together to resolve a unified need – your nutritional need; your hunger. However, the container didn’t just include those items, did it? It also included things you depended on to smoothly enjoy those food items.
