Before we analyze the current business process situation, I would like to introduce you to four helpful methodologies:

Business-Process-Modeling-Notation
Business-Process-Modeling-Notation (BPMN) is a way to create formal process models, just like the entity-relationship model for data models.
These models look like the way a process is modeled in Appian.
I have had huge success using simplified BPMN models when conducting workshops with business stakeholders. In the latter half of my project, I will show the Appian process models and everyone will be able to successfully recognize the important parts. This makes the software development process a lot more transparent to my business users.
