Planning for the deployment of an on-premises Rights Management connector

Cloud-based Microsoft RMS can utilize the on-premise IRM functionality by deploying the RMS connector. The connector can be installed on physical on-premises servers or virtual machines (VMs) running Windows 2008 R2 or later. You may install it, for example, on SharePoint and Exchange servers. Follow these steps:

  1. Install the RMS connector.
  2. Enter your credentials.
  3. Authorize the servers so that they can use the RMS connector.
  4. Configure load balancing and high availability.
  5. Configure the servers so that they can use the RMS connector.

Now, we're ready to implement AIP policies.
