Summary
Creating a model check dashboard is a powerful utility for the BIM, VDC, or model manager to help track trends, monitor the overall "health" of a Revit model, try to solve issues throughout the life of a project, and educate teams to be more efficient. The methods currently used to collect data are often manual and time-consuming or require third-party add-ins. In addition, reviewing this data can be difficult if the reviewer has little knowledge of the collected information or no time to go through it all.
With the method we explored in this chapter and with easy-to-leverage tools, such as Dynamo and Power BI, developing a workflow to automate the collection and visualization of data can be easy to replicate.
We learned how to identify what data to track using measurable indicators that impact the model's performance, and we also learned how to collect, organize, and export relevant information from the model. Finally, we learned how to use the exported...
