Working with video

It's time for the next object in this chapter: the video file. Captivate allows you to insert various types of video files, including .flv, .avi, .mov, and .mp4 files. However, Captivate always converts your videos to .mp4 upon publishing.

It is not Adobe Captivate that handles the conversion of your video files to the .mp4 file format. Behind the scenes, this task is taken care of by the Adobe Media Encoder CC 2018. The Adobe Media Encoder CC 2018 is included in the Adobe Captivate 2019 installation package.

In this exercise, you will insert a new slide in the Take the Train project and add a video file to it:

  1. Return to the Chapter03/takeTheTrain.cptx file.
  2. Use the Filmstrip to go to slide 19.
  3. Use the Slide | Blank Slide icon on the Toolbar to create a new blank slide.
  4. If necessary, use the Properties inspector to apply the contentBkg Master Slide on the newly created slide.

The new slide is inserted as slide 20. Remember that new slides are always inserted...
