Storage Migration
Imagine that you have been running a small company for several years and have built up a large amount of data stored on your users’ laptops and shared storage drives. You are starting to use AWS for your applications and databases and want the storage to also be available in AWS. As a result, you are looking into different options to move the data across. The main questions to consider are as follows:
- Do you simply want to move the files as a one-off transfer?
- Do you want to replicate the data to AWS and keep it in sync with on-premises?
- Do you want to back up the data on AWS but keep it on-premises?
- Do you also need to share data with external parties or suppliers?
