Summary
In this chapter, we covered the creation of teams in Microsoft Teams both from scratch and existing Microsoft 365 groups. We then covered privacy settings for teams, seeing that we can change teams from their original privacy setting to Public, Private, or Org-wide. We learned about org-wide teams as well, keeping in mind that we are limited to five per tenant and only in organizations with 10,000 or fewer users.
We also covered Microsoft Teams membership, including management at the user level and promotion of members to owners and vice versa. Then, we saw how membership can be automated using Microsoft 365 or security groups with dynamic membership (such as based on a user's department or job title).
In the next chapter of this guide, we'll explore the characteristics, planning, and management of channels.
