Assembling the Zumo chassis Kit


Pololu's Zumo chassis kit contains the components you will need to build a small, high-performance tracked robot platform. Tracked robots are a type of robot that use treads or caterpillar tracks instead of wheels. The kit includes the following components:

  1. The Zumo chassis main body
  2. 1/16" black acrylic mounting plate
  3. Two drive sprockets
  4. Two idler sprockets
  5. Two 22-tooth silicone tracks
  6. Two shoulder bolts with washers and M3 nuts
  7. Four 1/4" #2-56 screws and nuts
  8. Battery terminals

Figure 5.1 shows the components of the Zumo chassis kit:

Additionally, you will need the following things that are not included in the Zumo chassis kit:

  • Two 75:1 HP micro metal gearmotors
  • Four rechargeable NiMH AA batteries

Normally, you can convert the Zumo chassis to a line-following robot with the following things listed recommended by Pololu (https://www.pololu.com/):
