What is Windows Server Storage Replica?
Storage Replica is an installable Windows Server feature that’s used with the file server role to provide high availability and disaster recovery of volumes for physical or virtual machines. It can be used for standalone servers or clusters and stretched failover clusters between physical sites.
Data Deduplication is supported on NTFS and ReFS volumes; Windows Server OS volumes cannot be replicated using Windows Server Storage Replica.
How does Windows Server Storage Replica work?
It works at the block level using SMB 3 and thin provisioning and provides unidirectional replication with automatic failover.
