In this chapter, we looked at some of the networking concepts that are core to GCP. We looked at VPC networking and how it allows you to create networks and subnets in every region, as needed. Instances and resources in the region can be part of this VPC network and can automatically be assigned an internal IP address. All traffic within a VPC network can be restricted only via firewall rules. We also looked at VPC peering that lets you peer two VPC networks across two different projects. We briefly looked at other networking services offered by Google, such as load balancer, cloud CDN, cloud VPN, and cloud interconnect.
