Understanding OT

OT refers to the use of technology to manage and control physical processes, devices, and infrastructure in various industrial sectors. This subsector is usually based on physical devices and their control, aka Industrial Control Systems (ICSs). The term ICS describes a control system built on tools, systems, and controls utilized in automated industrial processes. A variety of industrial controls with different protocols and functionalities are used across many industries.

It often involves specialized hardware and software designed to withstand harsh industrial environments and ensure the continuous and safe operation of critical processes.
