When you think about privacy, what comes to mind? The term privacy can relate to a couple of concepts, such as the following:
- Not being disturbed or seen
- Keeping private information private
Because of today's always-connected world, there is already quite a bit of information that may have been considered private in the past that is now in public view.
Many of us willingly share our private information on social media. Perhaps you have shared your birthdate or allowed geotagging on your cellphone so that your movements can be tracked and posted.
When using social media, many sites provide ways for us to lock down our information to only allow certain individuals to view our content. Periodically, social media sites will remind us to do a privacy check to make sure the settings are in line with how we want to protect our information.
