Summary
In this foundational chapter, the groundwork for the journey into segment routing with TI-LFA was established. Beginning with the construction of the base network topology, essential steps were taken to configure IP addresses on routers. The introduction of IS-IS as the interior gateway routing protocol enabled end-to-end IP routing. With the groundwork laid, the configuration of Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) was explored, facilitating end-to-end labeled forwarding within the MPLS network.
Throughout the lab, step-by-step configuration guidance was provided, emphasizing the importance of examining output results to validate configurations and providing an understanding of the underlying mechanisms of IS-IS and LDP protocols. It was stressed how important it is to check the results to make sure everything’s working as it should.
While assuming a solid background in networking, the chapter ensured that even beginners could grasp the fundamentals by providing...
