Summary

AWS is the most advanced cloud provider we have currently, and they are good at pushing new services fast onto the market. Lambda and the serverless ecosystem have grown multifold and have become synonymous with serverless and FaaS. The current AWS focus, in terms of Lambda, seems to be toward performance improvement as well as more integration with other AWS services. This will open up more possibilities for serverless applications and newer architecture patterns that will help process data easily and seamlessly.

In this chapter, we learned about the core AWS serverless services, with Lambda being at the center. We looked at how these services can be integrated and how they can help in designing complex serverless architectures. As AWS is the cloud provider that set a standard for serverless, this chapter was vital as it helped you easily understand the upcoming chapters.
