Exploring key characteristics of pure data product
In the previous section, we explored how a pure data product aims to make one or more data assets relevant, accurate, reusable, and composable. In this section, we will delve more deeply into these characteristics to better understand how to assess the quality of a pure data product and the design strategies to follow during its development to ensure that quality.
Popular ilities
The non-functional characteristics that determine the quality of an application are generally referred to as ilities due to the suffix that many of the words used to define them share (e.g., availability, scalability, reliability, etc.). The key ilities we have identified for a pure data product stem directly from its raison d’être, namely, to maintain (relevance and accuracy) and enhance (reusability and composability) the value of one or more data assets (Figure 2.7).
