Uploading apps to Google Play and the iOS App Store

Managing releases for mobile platforms can be slightly more complicated as the apps cannot be directly tested on the devices that we use to build them. However, the Fyne release process is designed to encompass all platforms, so in this section, we will see how the same tools can be used for releasing to mobile device stores.

iOS App Store

Packaging applications for iOS is very similar to the macOS distribution process described earlier in this chapter. You will need to have Xcode installed and a distribution certificate and provisioning profile prepared and downloaded from the Apple Developer portal, at developer.apple.com/account/resources/certificates/.

Packaging an iOS release

For an iOS release package command, we run the following command on our Mac system, remembering to add the -os ios parameters:

$ fyne release -os ios -appVersion 1.0 -appBuild 1 -certificate "CertificateName" -profile "ProfileName...
