If you can recall the buffet analogy from Chapter 2, Grokking Ethereum, ethercast is analogous to the buffet table. It is a website that serves as a platform to freely register DApps at different states of their development life cycle, as depicted in Figure 4.3. Once it is registered, a DApp life cycle status can be tracked as progress in development is made. It is a Web 2.0-based app store that links us to progression states of Web 3.0-based DApps.
