Selecting a ControlLogix digital input module

The digital input module will be used in this project to execute different recipes in place of an HMI. Each recipe will be associated with a push button that will trigger the digital output cards to run a recipe. To avoid the cost of adding a second power supply, we will select a digital input module that also supports 12 V DC.

The following is a list of digital input cards that are well suited for our robot bartender project:

  • The 1756-IB16 and 1756-IB16K 16-input DC (10 V – 31.2 V) input modules
  • The 1756-IB16D and 1756-IB16DK16-input DC (10 V – 30 V) diagnostic input modules
  • The 1756-IB16I and 1756-IB16IK16-input DC (10 V – 30 V) isolated input modules
  • The 1756-IB16IF and 1756-IB16IFK16-input DC (10 V –30 V) sinking or sourcing isolated fast input modules
  • The 1756-IV16 and 1756-IV16K16-inputDC (10 V – 30 V) sourcing input modules...
