Summary
In this chapter, we started by learning how to develop the current state “as-is” process flow. We took help from key stakeholders and experts in their areas to develop a process flow in which everyone has a common understanding. We analyzed, elicited further, and identified gaps and opportunities. We took the list of prioritized requirements and mapped them to the current flow to derive the future state “to-be” process flow. In doing so, we identified opportunities to enhance the user experience by simplifying and automating processes.
Process flows are static diagrams, and they capture the essence of the business flow for a specific period. The “to-be” process flow we developed will be used as the current or “as-is” process flow for the next phase of the project.
