In this chapter, we have taken a look at the ELB service and the way it operates. We have received an overview of the three types of load balancers that are supported and looked at each one in detail. One of the key aspects of the ELB is security; this is why we provided an overview of the security principles and how to protect the ELB service and encrypt the traffic on the ELB. We have also indicated that the ELB can be straightened with the WAF and AWS Shield services.
In the next chapter, we will be looking at how to securely distribute content with the CloudFront service and make sure we can deliver the content to the user securely, in the fastest possible manner, and with the lowest latency.
