In this section, we will see how network configuration works in macOS, including the tools offered for a seamless configuration, as well as the customization options available. All network preferences and configuration options are managed from System Preferences through the Network panel (Figure 12.15):

Take into account the fact that network preferences can only be managed and modified by users with administrative privileges. If you are a non-administrative user and want to make changes, you will have to authenticate as an admin to do so.
