Summary

In this chapter, we took a look at the Lambda service and how we can implement serverless processing in our application design. We took a look at some features of the Lambda service and saw an introduction to creating and configuring a Lambda function. We also discussed what other services can invoke a Lambda function and how it can be integrated to provide different kinds of processing, with either the push or pull mechanism. Finally, we took a look at some use cases that give a good overview of how we can use Lambda and what kinds of services it can help us deliver. In the next chapter, we will be monitoring resources with Amazon CloudWatch.
