Defining a Data Literacy Competency Framework
One of the most common questions we get asked is, what skills are required to be data literate? Everyone has heard about data literacy, but few are aware of the various skills and mindsets that make up data literacy. Data literacy is not a unique skill all by itself. It is an aggregation of specific technical skills and specific soft skills, along with a mindset to listen, be curious, and think critically. We have introduced a variety of topics related to data literacy already throughout this book, and this chapter intends to bring them all together into a cohesive framework.
