Integrating on-premises data with the data source flexibility of canvas apps

Not all data lives in the cloud; sometimes, there are some organizational restrictions, legacy platforms that are too expensive to migrate, or complex network infrastructures, making our job a little more complicated.

There are different ways to overcome these challenges: synchronization processes, exposing application interfaces outside the local infrastructure, to name a couple. Thankfully, one of the most significant features of the Power Platform is the ability to connect to on-premises services using a data gateway.

The on-premises data gateway acts as a bridge between the local services and Azure. There is no need to set authentication for the services you need to access; this only allows the platforms to be visible between each other—authentication takes place afterward.
