Editing during playback
The previous recipe showed you how to quickly add edit points while listening to playback, but it requires that you go back and remove clips afterward. In this recipe, we’ll look at a way to edit audio clips as the clips are playing back, and a different way to align them all back together.
Getting ready
For this recipe, you will need a Pro Tools session with an audio track placed in a track. If you want to try this recipe out on a practical example, then having a recorded voice with errors can help. One has been provided in the GitHub project for this book. Otherwise, an empty audio clip or any audio clip altogether can help.
How to do it…
We’re going to play back some audio and then select a portion of it that contains an error while it’s playing and delete it. Then, we’ll line up the clips quickly. Follow along with these steps:
