Creating and configuring VHDs

To create and configure VHDs on your Windows 10 computer usingHyper-V Manager, complete the following steps:

1. Click the Search box on the taskbar, and enter Hyper-V.
2. From the Best match list, select Hyper-V Manager.

 

3. In the Actions pane, click New, and then click Hard Disk, as shown in Figure 7.32:

4. Click Next in the Before You Begin page (see Figure 7.33) of the New Virtual Hard Disk wizard in order to begin creating your VHD:

5. Choose the disk format of the VHD, and then clickNext:

6. Choose the disk type of the VHD, and then click Next:

7. Specify the name and location of the VHD file, and then click Next...
