Step 3 – Using and reusing the Shared Action

The last step of this process is to use and reuse your Shared Action. As with any other action, you have to attach your Shared Action to an event – only this time, you will attach the same Shared Action to many different events and set different action parameters each time. You will test it on the Using Standard Ticket button using the following steps:

  1. Still in the takeTheTrain.cptx file, use the Filmstrip panel to go to slide 13.
  2. Select the Using standard tickets button.
  3. In the Actions tab of the Properties inspector, open the On Success dropdown list.
  4. Choose the Execute Shared Action item.
  5. Make sure that the viewTicketType action is selected in the dropdown that appears just below.
  6. Click the little {P} icon next to the name of the action. This opens the Shared Action Parameters dialog.
  7. Choose v_standardTicket_visited as the value of the Variable to update parameter.
