When you inserted the video, back in Chapter 3, Working with Multimedia, you learned that you can insert videos as either Event Videos or Slide Videos. The main difference between the two types of video is that the Slide Video is synchronized with the project. When it comes to making a video interactive, Captivate must be able to control the video. For example, Captivate must be able to jump to a certain place on the video, or to overlay a specific slide at a predefined timecode of the video. The only type of video that Captivate can control in such ways is the Slide Video, so only Slide Videos can be made interactive.
Let’s now explore the different ways to insert such a video on a slide:
- Still in the Chapter05/takeTheTrain.cptx project, use the Filmstrip to go to slide 20.
- Use the Video | Insert Video menu item to insert a video file on the current slide.
- At the top of the Insert Video dialog, choose to insert a Slide Video.
