In this chapter, we have covered how to create an Amazon S3 bucket, upload objects, and host a static website. We covered the bucket creation and uploading objects using the Management Console, AWS CLI, Java SDK, and Cloud Formation Script. We can configure the permissions as per our application needs. It is important not to grant public access over the bucket and object to anonymous users. This may incur heavy charges if the URL is being used by some other users or application. We also covered how to configure the Hosted Zone for hosting a static website on Amazon S3.
In the next chapter, we will be learning about the Relational Database Service (RDS), which is used to create database instances and clusters.
