Summary

We looked at the processes and the considerations of the assessment of the Industrial Internet applications. The architects need to look at the available options for the application infrastructure, platform, and the application capabilities. If the application is delivered as SaaS, then it minimizes the investigation for the underlying tiers, namely PaaS and the IaaS, since the SaaS provider makes those determinations. If the SaaS capabilities do not suffice for all the functional requirements, then the robustness and capabilities of the PaaS become important so that features to bridge the gaps can be built on it.
