Trends and emerging best practices

Many trends and emerging practices in project management are moving away from typical functional environments into more Agile environments. What's so great about resource management trends is that they are beginning to identify and accommodate the lack of critical resources when working on singular projects. I would imagine that every single one of you is working on more than one project at a time, and finding yourself working 100 percent of the time on one project is a thing of the past. Some of the more commonly used management methods to accommodate a lack of critical resources include lean management, Just-in-Time (JIT) manufacturing, Kaizen, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and the Theory of Constraints (TOC).
