These are some typical data management scenarios a project goes through. Let's explore the tools and processes to use in each scenario.

Initial configuration in a blank environment

We recommend that you leverage the data management framework within Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Enterprise edition and start with the base data released from Microsoft. We typically download them, extract the data files, fit them to the customer's business needs, and then them in the initial environment. 

Many partners and ISVs are investing in creating industry-specific data packages that they intend to use repeatably in various implementation scenarios. These data packages can also be used to seed the configuration environment.
