Technical requirements
To complete the tasks outlined in this chapter, you’ll need the following:
- A Microsoft 365 subscription
- Access to SharePoint Online
- Access to Microsoft Azure
- Internet connectivity for accessing online resources and services
- A user assigned with the required roles:
- In the Microsoft Admin portal, the user must have the Global Administrator role assigned
- In the Microsoft Defender portal, the user must have the Security Administrator or Global Administrator role assigned
- In the Microsoft Compliance portal, the user must have the Compliance Administrator, Compliance Data Administrator, eDiscovery Administrator, or Records Management role assigned
- In the Microsoft Purview portal, the user must have the Compliance Administrator, Global Administrator, Information Protection Administrator, Records Management, Insider Risk Management, or Privacy Management role assigned
