Multimedia is a collective term for nearly all forms of content that are visual, auditory, or both. The term multimedia processing in itself is very vague. A more precise way of discussing this term would be to break it down into two fundamental parts—visual or auditory. Hence, we will be discussing multimedia processing in the terms it is composed of—image processing and audio processing. A mixture of these terms gives rise to video processing, which is just another form of multimedia.
