Process integration
For each process in the best practice frameworks, you will have both primary and secondary relationships and interactions with other processes. Since every process has a relationship with every other process (this is especially true of configuration management), this section will only cover the primary relationships to key processes. Each process is described in the following list, along with the key interactions that configuration management has with it:
- Service asset management is tightly integrated with configuration management in that many of the assets recorded in an asset management database will also be CIs in the CMDB. Service asset management and configuration management have to work together to ensure any redundant information between these two repositories is limited and that there is a valid business reason for any replication.
