Core beliefs shaping the future of data management
Through my experience in data management, I’ve developed three core beliefs that guide my work and inspired each chapter of this book. These beliefs focus on how and why data management is evolving. In this section, I’ll briefly outline them.
Data management is not a supporting function anymore
Over the past 40 years, the world we live in has changed profoundly, becoming progressively more volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA).
