Managing users within a team
Users can be added to a team as either an owner or a member. This can be changed at any time, promoting or demoting owners as needed.
Owners of teams have elevated privileges, including the following:
- Creating and deleting a team
- Modifying the team name and description
- Creating and deleting private channels
- Adding members to the team or private channels
Team owners can also modify the settings of the team to change member experiences. For example, a team owner can choose to disable the following abilities for members:
- Adding and deleting channels
- Modifying channel names and descriptions
- Adding private channels
- Adding applications
Members can add other members to public teams themselves and can request members be added to private teams and private channels. Members can also elect to leave a team themselves at any time.
