Exporting your project as an MP3


Exporting is the basic process of converting your source project files into the desired file format. Typically, the file format that you want the final files to be in. To do this is pretty simple. You just open your project and export it, then add some tagging information to your file, and finally convert and save the file. Let's get started!

Opening and exporting your project

To get started, just open the Audacity project file that you want to export. In our case, it is the test project that we've been working on since the beginning of this book.

  1. Open Audacity, and then choose File and then Open.

  2. Choose your project file, and then click on Open. The project opens in the Audacity main window.

    Note

    You can also always open a recent project by going to the main menu and selecting File and then Open Recent. Another menu is displayed, showing the last open projects for easy and quick access to re-open them.

  3. When you are ready to start the export, you just select File...
