Ransomware Countermeasures – Microsoft Azure Workloads
Many organizations are moving to the cloud with their virtual machine workloads. With that, they also need to have a good understanding of the different security mechanisms and what the architecture should look like before placing infrastructure there.
Unfortunately, I have seen many cases where customers have been compromised with ransomware or have had information exposed after they have moved their workloads to the public cloud, either because of a lack of knowledge or having limited security mechanisms in place.
This chapter will cover the theory of how to build a secure architecture in Microsoft Azure for virtual machine workloads and the following topics:
- Network segmentation and design best practices in Microsoft Azure
- Security mechanisms to protect external services with DDoS and WAF mechanisms
- Security best practices for Identity and Access Management in Azure
- Protecting hybrid workloads...
