Service Map is part of the Insights and Analytics offering in OMS Log Analytics. The Service Map solution was made possible by, among other things, Microsoft's strategic acquisition of BlueStripe Software. BlueStripe's FactFinder tool was an established leader in dynamic application dependency mapping, and Microsoft has since integrated this tool as a cloud-based offering in Log Analytics to complement the vast array of other hybrid cloud management capabilities and services that exist in OMS. Service Map was initially known as Application Dependency Monitor (ADM) and has since evolved into a full-fledged service application dependency mapping solution with numerous practical applications and use cases.
