Technical requirements

To install WSL2, you'll need to have an up-to-date Windows installation running at least the May 2019 update (version 1903, as reported in the output of the winver command). If you're running an ARM64 system, you'll need version 2004.

Additionally, your computer will need to support hardware virtualization. Most computers do, but it may not be enabled in the BIOS. If you run into virtualization problems, check your PC's manufacturer for information on how to enable hardware virtualization. We'll be modifying some configuration files in this chapter. All code and configuration from this chapter can be found at https://github.com/PacktPublishing/Windows-Terminal-Tips-Tricks/tree/main/Chapter 03.
