Loading the data of the first dimension
In this section, we will see how to create (if you do not have the data from some external source system) and load the dimensional data for the security dimension, which is the one describing the securities that are contained in the positions of the accounts.
At the end of this section, we will invite you to add other dimensions as an exercise.
Creating and loading a CSV as a seed
In a real banking data platform, the security dimension will easily get to many tens of columns, with some columns being informational values that do not change often, while most would be calculated values from trading activity.
In this section, we will create a simple CSV file with some basic columns: Security_Code
, Security_Name
, Sector
, Industry
, Country
, and Exchange
.
