Preparing to enter the job market
Believe it or not, you started preparing for a role when you wrote your first line of code. Coding is one of the highly sought-after skills for a software engineering role, and engineers of all levels need to write code to maintain their skills. If you’re entering the industry, you will need to spend a bit more time building up your skills in preparation for a role. As mentioned previously, reading this book alone will not be enough preparation for a job as a software engineer. You’ll need to practice what you have learned and find new ways to apply your knowledge and continue to learn new things to build on the skills you already have. To be completely honest, it may be a long road of preparation, but keep in mind that many software engineers have gone through the same experience to get where they are today. You can do it too!
